You do not need to go to exotic locations to do landscape photography. Sometimes you just need to step outside your backdoor. Taken in a Florida resort the lighting is provided by the fluorescent street lighting. City light pollution prevents many stars from being captured and is the reason for the purple sky but it complements the green pine trees. I actually had to shoot this twice. The first time I shot this the trees did not properly focus and I did not notice it until I had returned home. On a return trip I shot the same scene again on a clear night this time making sure everything was in focus.
A wide shot captures three pine trees against the Floridian night sky. The fluorescent lighting gives a green color cast even in the bark of the tree and emphasises the green in the needles and moss.
A vertical shot highlights more of the tree in the foreground. Less stars are visible, however, the sky is a deeper purple.
