This series of photos is taken in Grand Teton National Park in the Mormon Row Historic District. It is named after the title work, Golden Autumn at Ditch Creek. Ditch Creek runs through the district. This series focuses on the golden autumn colors contrasted against the bright blue Wyoming sky. In some cases the Grand Teton range may feature in the background but it was not a requirement. The title is a reminder that beauty can be found in the ordinary. If you just focus on the mountain you can easily miss what is right behind you.
Taken in Grand Teton National Park, in the Mormon Row Historic District. Golden Autumn at Ditch Creek is the title work of a series of images captured in the Mormon Row Historic District focused on the autumn landscape in that area and the golden colors set against the bright blue sky. This picture in particular focuses on the trees on either side of Ditch Creek all in various shades of golden hues contrasted against the bold blue sky.
One of three barns of the Moulton Family Homestead popular with photographers. While most seem to prefer the T.A. Moulton Barn, I actually preferred photographing the John Moulton Barn. Sometimes it takes a great deal of patience to wait for passaging visitors to move out of frame to get the shot you want. I liked the fencing, and tree in close proximity to the barn, which the other two barns don't have.
Second of three barns of the Moulton Family Homestead. This barn was unique in that it had recent repairs that contrast with the original worn structure. Located at the end of Mormon Row, the three field pictures are also captured in this same area.
Located on the John Moulton Homestead this gate faces West out of the corral towards the plains in front of the Teton Range. This one requires a little bit of exploration to find as it is off the beaten path.
First of three autumn field pictures captured at the end of Mormon Row near Reed Moulton Barn. This one in particular is taken to capture the a small stream that runs through the field.
Second of three autumn field pictures captured at the end of Mormon Row near Reed Moulton Barn. When the main road ends vehicle tracks continue into the field.
Third of three autumn field pictures captured at the end of Mormon Row near Reed Moulton Barn. This captures the grain of the field without any other feature present.
T.A. Moulton Barn is likely to be the most popular barn with photographers. When I was visiting there were several setup in various locations taking photographs from various angles. That wasn't the case with the other two barns. Presented here is a cropped version of the photograph I took that presents it in similar framing to John Moulton Autumn Barn.
The photograph is captures the trees along Ditch Creek from a different angle. It captures the fields along side the creek and the long line of trees lining the creek.
This is one of those you have to turn around or you'll miss it moments. Located on the opposite side of the road, looking away from the Grand Teton range is where this photo was taken. I liked how there are two lines formed here. One the line of trees working left to right, and a line of clouds going right to left.
A single autumn tree against the sky. Another photo not set against the Grand Teton range. Presented here in my preferred cropped square presentation. Originally shot in a vertical orientation.
